This PhD thesis cover was designed for Dr. Wytze Marinus of Wageningen University. His research focused on sustainable farming systems in the East African highlands.

The cover needed to include a cheerful family in the highlands, a maize field, and a typical East African farm home. These elements were blended together using warm earthy tones to create a slightly activistic image.
